DESCRIPTION:�Mendel & Company completed a complicated tenant-finish buildout for Microstar Logistics in the historic Root Office Building. Mendel was selected to participate in the project during the conceptual stage to assist with design decisions and preliminary budgeting relating to these decisions.
Working in a Historic Landmark building presented several challenges including: preservation of the unique character of the building while incorporating modern design elements; extensive floor preparation and repairs to existing exterior walls; conducting construction operations with limited access to the space; and working alongside existing tenants so as not to disturb their day-to-day operations. The project incorporated several unique elements including repurposed storage-container panels used as doors, and an accent wall built from whisky barrel wood staves. Mendel & Company successfully completed the project on time and on budget working hand-in-hand with the owner and the design team.
